Plant-Based Aperitivo Night at Eatery Shawlands with Sgaia Foods 🌿

Last Thursday, 5th September, we hosted a successful Plant-Based Aperitivo evening at Eatery Shawlands, a bustling new bistro in Glasgow's Southside!

Here’s what we served:

🌱 Bresaola-Style Involtino: Plant-based cheese, yogurt, walnuts, basil, parsley, and melon wrapped in chives, with olive oil and pistachio crumble.

🌱 ‘Nduja-Style on Grilled Polenta: Spicy ‘Nduja-Style spread with dill on grilled polenta.

🌱 Späck-Style Involtino: Courgette, plant-based soft cheese, and olives on sourdough bread.

🌱 Pastrami-Style Cicchetto: Pastrami-Style slice, plant-based cheese, sauerkraut, pickle, and mustard on sourdough bread.

For those who chose wine with their tapas, we paired the dishes with Vegan Tipples wines: Baccolo Bianco Veneto (silky texture with ripe orchard fruit and subtle floral notes) and Umani Ronchi Podere (youthful and juicy, with flavours of plums and morello cherries), both from Italy.

Overall, it was a fantastic evening! It was wonderful to see everyone mingling, enjoying delicious Italian food, and soaking up the cosy atmosphere. We hope to host another event like this very soon! Ciao for now 🌱
